Title: Engineering Manager
Quotes: "Symmco installed one of the first "MCS" panels in 1998 and presently have units on all furnaces used for sintering ferrous powder metal compacts, including stainless steel. These units operate seven days a week, 24 hours a day with very little, if any, maintenance. This system enables Symmco to operate soot-free furnaces for our sintering process."

Quotes: "Engineering Technician Quotes: We have recently installed "MCS" panels on 100% of our sintering furnaces. With this system, our maintenance employees have already noticed the results of much cleaner furnaces. The carbide build-up that forms under the mesh belts has been eliminated and previous deposits removed. In addition, the formation of carbon rich stalactites and stalagmites have been eliminated from the preheat muffle. We have also noticed that the belts are less brittle and are showing the potential of longer life. I have also noticed that our Copper infiltration is showing a better efficiency due to the assistant to the delubrication process. We in the past had issues with exhaust stack build up of lubricant and required weekly maintenance, this build up has been greatly reduced or eliminated."

Quotes: "Over the last several years, Jim Marsden and F.A.S.T. has provided an invaluable service to Micro Metals, Inc. For the last fifteen years, Jim has provided consultation services on topics ranging from installing an atmosphere system to recommending a design for our new sintering furnace purchase. We have been using Moisture Control Panels designed and built by F.A.S.T. since 1997 with great success. These panels have enhanced the delubing process by providing a more rapid burn-off of lubricants in the pre-heat zone. The result of this includes less sooting and blistering of parts and also much less build-up of lubricants in the furnace. We have also taken advantage of F.A.S.T.'s technical training courses. Over the last couple of years, we have contracted with F.A.S.T. to conduct in-house seminars on topics such as furnace trouble-shooting and metallography. We would recommend Jim and his team at F.A.S.T. for all P/M sintering related issues."

Title: Maintenance Department
Quotes: "We installed the Moisture Control Panels on all our sintering furnaces in 2002. Since then, our maintenance records show an increase in muffle and belt life by approximately 25 to 33 %.. The moisturized atmosphere has all but eliminated the formation of carbides and stalactites that form under the belt and from the roof of the muffle that results in premature failure of the furnace components. Another benefit, that has been realized, is the reduced man hours required by the maintenance department for furnace and stack repairs as well as general maintenance normally required to produce a quality sintering operation . As maintenance foreman, I have seen the many benefits provided by this system and would recommend it to anyone sintering powdered metal parts."

Quotes: "Jim and Jamie,
I thought I would give you a quick up-date on the Fast System that we have installed on our iron furnaces. I recently ran an order containing 3% graphite. As you know, this is a very "dirty" material. It was common to sinter half the order and then let the furnace clean up for a few days. I could then complete the order. With the Fast System installed I can now sinter the complete order and have very little carbon build-up in the furnace. In general our furnaces are cleaner now than at any time before we began using the Fast System. Thanks for the increase in muffle life and cleaner sintering. Keep up the good work."

Quotes: "Having familiarity of the MCS panels from my past, I have installed three units (3) presently with plans to incorporate the units to all our sintering furnaces. The earlier units did not have a pump to control the water flow, but relied on the house pressure of the water supply and an installed flow meter. These units did perform well the only issue would be air bubbles or fluctuation in the flow which would indicate erroneous measurements of the flow. Unneeded adjustments to the water flow would sometimes then occur. The newer units having the water pumps to control the correct flow of water into the MCS systems have been operating trouble free for nine (9) plus months. The units are user friendly and we very seldom even shut the units down. We have found that leaving these units running when the furnaces are in weekend mode have aided in the continued cleaning of the furnace."
